From the very first time I rode Disney’s Haunted Mansion ride as a little girl, I’ve loved Madame Leota. She’s easily my favorite character associated with the Haunted Mansion backstory, and I can’t wait to see Jamie Lee Curtis portray her in this Friday’s live-action film.
I’m hoping the filmmakers lean into the fact that the mortal version of Madame Leota once resided in Disney World’s Memento Mori gift shop and allegedly survived the Salem Witch Trials in the 1690s — who’s ready for a Sanderson Sisters crossover?
When I started thinking about creating a spooky cocktail for this week, Leota immediately jumped to mind. The result was this delicious — and easy — fishbowl cocktail (but don’t worry, you can modify if you only want a single serving!)
“The Leota” Cocktail
What You Need:
- High Noon canned cocktails, variety pack
- Blue Curacao rum
- Berlinzo ice ball maker*
*Ice balls are optional, but add to the overall crystal ball vibe of this Disney Parks-inspired drink!
What You Do:
- For a shareable fishbowl cocktail, pour two cans of High Noon and three shots of Blue Curacao into a fishbowl-style glass. Add ice ball and enjoy!
- For a single serving, pour one can of High Noon and a single shot of Blue Curacao into glass of your choice. Add ice ball and enjoy!
NOTE: Different High Noon flavors will make different colored Haunted Mansion cocktails! We used pineapple for the blue version and watermelon for the purple version.
Whether you’re a Walt Disney World Resort Haunted Mansion loyalist like me or you prefer Disneyland Resort’s New Orleans Square version, we can all agree this classic ride is a hauntingly good time. Let’s raise our crystal ball-inspired cocktails and toast to our favorite psychic medium. Cheers, my fellow “foolish mortals!”
