Sweet & Salty Goji Trail Mix
I find most store bought trail mixes are predominantly dried fruit and less nuts, so I’ve put together a mix that is full of nuts which pack an awesome protein hit and healthy fats which are super important for hormone balance. This mix uses goji berries instead of other dried fruit as they are awesome for cardiovascular health, digestive health and have been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine as a kidney tonic – which helps boost energy and mood and gives your adrenals a whole lotta love! They are also high in vitamin C which adds some extra adrenal support.
Feel free to mix up the nuts and seeds that you like!
50g unsalted peanuts
50g macadamia nuts
50g sunflower seeds
100g goji berries
50g raw cacao nibs
50g flaked/shredded coconut
2 tsp cinnamon powder
2 tsp fine celtic salt
Place all nuts, cacao, coconut and goji berries in a large bowl and mix together. Add the cinnamon and salt and mix through (Feel free to add a little more or less to taste). Place in a large airtight container.
A serving size for this would be a 1/4 cup – this makes an awesome afternoon pick me up snack!
Also you can have this for breakfast – just put 1/2 cup in a bowl and add milk or yoghurt! Or as a breakfast topping for porridge/oats – just add 1 tablespoon
